Dr. Theopolis is a character in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. He was voiced by Howard F. Flynn in the 1979 film and by Eric Server in the series.
About Dr. Theopolis[]
Dr. Theopolis is an intelligent computer who was a member of Earth's Computer Council. He is an illuminated face in a round container. He had no means of independent locomotion, and so was often carried by Twiki, his assistant ambuquad. Twiki would typically attach Theo to his chest. Theo is considered one of Earth's leading scientists. He is also responsible for the environmental control within New Chicago.
Theo had an important role on Earth as a sort of liaison between the Earth Defense Directorate and its leader Dr. Elias Huer, and the Computer Council, which is the planetary ruling body. He was assigned to help assimilate Buck Rogers when he first arrived on Earth after having been in suspended animation. When Buck was charged with treason following his return to Earth, Dr. Theopolis acted for the defense.[1]
Theo was assigned another ambuquad to assist him when Twiki was assigned to Searcher.
