Buck's Duel to the Death is the twentieth episode of Season 1 of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. It premiered 20 March 1980.
In syndication and streaming, "Buck's Duel to the Death" is sometimes listed as the twenty-second episode of the season. This happens when the episode "Planet of the Slave Girls" is split into two episodes.
Summary[]
Buck is sent on what may be a one-way mission: he must overthrow the warlord known as the Trebor, the ruler of Katar, a peaceful planet. Buck resembles the legend of the Roshan, a five hundred-year-old hero who was prophesized to defeat their merciless dictator. Deputy Minister Neil believes that Buck is the Roshan who will free his people. The Trebor possesses special electrical powers that may bring his career to an abrupt end. Buck leads an Earth Defense Directorate attack force together with a band of Katarian warriors into the Trebor's fortress in an attempt to free a prisoner. They are betrayed by Deputy Minister Kelan, who warns the Trebor of their plans.
Notes[]
- "Trebor" spelled backwards is "Robert", which might refer to either writer or director.
Quotes[]
- Dr. Huer: Electricity? That hasn't been used in over four hundred years, Buck.
